Don't want to be a wet blanket. My son bought one at a yard sale for $100 as is. Brought it home; used it; ran it out of gas. Did not start again. He rebuilt both carburators; still nothing Had good spark; would crank; and try to run; but didn't. He gave up; sat in HIS back yard a log time. I suggest you get with Ric; he is one of the lawnmower guru's here. Good luck!! TJ
Loosen the bolt on the bottom of the carb and see if fuel runs out. If it does try choking the carb by hand, to see if you can start it. Please post the engine model numbers and the number of the carb rebuild kit you used.
