I just put on a 12.5 brigs engine on my old snapper rear engine rider.
mjy question is do I need a voltage reg for the statter. I just priced one and they want 68$ for one if I just run the red wire to the hot side of the battery
will that be enough. I know the other wire is for ac. just the lights, and I don't have lights.

Do you have the two wire connector with one black and one red, and the red has a bump above the connector. If this is true then you are fine.
