Briggs voltage regulator on Kohler engine

Hey guys so I have a Dixon ZTR with a single cylinder Briggs 14.5hp OHV and I want to put this Kohler 15hp on it because the Briggs threw a rod. Can I use the regulator off the Briggs on the Kohler wire harness?
