Briggs & Stratton Quantum 5 HP Linkage Question

My father-in-law gave me a Billy Goat Lawn Vacuum. It starts fine, but only runs for a few seconds before quitting. I rebuilt the carb, and I think I did it correctly. The linkage seems loose. I wonder if I have assembled it incorrectly. I can't find and clear photos or diagrams. Can someone take a look at these photos and tell me if everything appears to be correct? Engine runs when I pull on the spring with needle nose pliers.

Your linkage is correct. Cleaning a carb can be tricky. I do believe this has a bowl carb? Make sure the nut that holds the bowl on (which is the main jet) is clean and the holes in it are not clogged with debris. Good luck and let us know how when you get it running.

I cleaned my Quantum carb out and I also thought the linkage seemed loose/wrong. But when the engine actually starts up the linkage tightens up and the control cable worked properly.
