So I purchased a Bolens 21" push lawn mower with a B&S engine in April '16 from Lowes. The engine Model # is: 09P602-0076-F1. I've used it 6 times since purchase. The last time used was 23 June (last week) with no problems. I go out to start it on Tuesday 28 June and the damn thing won't keep running. I prime it, start it, it runs for 3-5 seconds, then dies. It won't start without being primed everytime and then the same results...3-5 seconds running then dies.

I pop the air cleaner to check for reduced airflow and clean it. The gas I put in it had only been in my 5 gallon container for 10 days. Empty the gas tank, refill, same results. I pull the bolts for the carb and as I'm pulling it away from the body of the engine, this little piece shown in the photos fall on the deck before I can even see where it came from.

Help!!! Where does this go? Could it have been the issue all along?

It belongs on the R/H side of carb above the fuel inlet.
Push it back in and also seal the hole.
Use small amount of glue to secure it.
It causes a non start problem as it does not push the fuel up the emulsion tube.

You are the man. Just went out and did what you referenced and it started right up and runs like a champ. I can't express my appreciation, but if you are ever in Memphis, I owe you a beer!!:cool:
