This motor is on my '03 troy bilt ltx1842. The motor is a 31d777. Can anyone help with a used replacement motor. This was my baby and I have 1.5 acres on a hill

Did the rod go through the case? If not, you could possibly rebuild, or $ave some by getting a short block which would be basically/mechanically, a new engine.

i had one throw a rod it was 20 something horse the engine complete was a outrages price i got a short block from the states and put it back together and sold it it was in 2008 sears craftsman..Good powerful engine but they are good for throwing rods ....Not a big fan of them i like the older ones the lasted

+1 on that. Even with synthetic oil, they don't seem to be as sturdy.:mad:
