I bought a 5500 watt Briggs generator the day after Hurricane Ivan in 2004. It ran almost non stop for over a week till we got power back. On a couple of other occasions we have used it for a few hours at the time. I always tried to keep Stabil in it when I put back in storage. Since we have had NO hurricanes come this way in several years now it got buried in the shed and I pretty much forgot about it. It had not been started in probably two years. I got it out yesterday morning. Checked the oil, turned the gas cut off valve on, choked it, pulled the crank rope, it started the FIRST PULL. I was shocked. I figured I would have to go through an act of congress to get it running. I ran it for a few minutes at the time several times yesterday and it operated as good as when new.
