I have a Bad Boy mower with Commercial Briggs single cylinder engine that keeps losing compression and puffing out rather large smoke screen. After it regains compression which is just a split second it will cut just fine til next time. It seems to do it more often when it is in thick grass such as Soya (Spelling) grass.It is in the shop but they are trying to get it to duplicate problem before working on it but has not duplicated as yet. What could this problem be or does it sound familiar to you?

Smoke screen is blue and very large also

Puffing blue smoke under load could be the beginnings of a head gasket going south.
