:) hello newbie here. My john deere lt166 48c with Briggs & Stratton #303777 engine is spraying fuel out of air intake i performed a carb rebuild yet the problem still exists. I'm now thinking maybe it's something to do with the valves. With the carb being freshly cleand and rebuilt I can't think of anything else. Any suggestions much appreciated.

X2, check your valve lash,
from the owners manual,
Valve clearance with valve springs installed and piston 1/4in. (6 mm) past top dead center (check when engine iscold)..Intake0.004 − 0.006 in. (0.10 − 0.15 mm). . . Exhaust0.004 − 0.006 in. (0.10 − 0.15mm)

Thanks for advice. It turns out to be a popped out intake push rod.
