Hi, all, I didn't know where else to looks, so I registered and thought I would give it a try on here-
I have an old "Nova" Minibike, with a Briggs and Stratton 5 horsepower engine. When I got it, pull the choke, give the rope a good yank, choke back in yank it again, and it would idle, and do everything it was supposed to do. Okay, silly me, I decided to take the cover off, and paint it, and stick some B&S decals on it...so far, so good. BUT...now, when I pull on the rope, something is scraping inside the housing, something it never did before..any ideas? I have searched on the interwebs, and on youtube, and found nothing addressing this. Thank You for any help you might be able to provide.

I am going to take a guess and say that the metal screen that is attached to the starter clutch housing is now rubbing the blower housing when you crank it.
