Alright so i got this mower for free from a friend because its having this problem. Its been sitting for about a year and today i took it out to take a look at it. Its self propelled if that has anything to do with it. But i cleaned out the carburetor bowl and the nut with carb-cleaner. I put fresh oil and gas in. I changed the air filter and the spark plug. But it still starts up for about 5 seconds then sputters out. Any ideas?

Edit: i got it running enough to cut some low grass. i can tell its not at its full RPMs though.

id say do a complete carb clean, removing the carb from the engine, spray carb cleaner through every hole and blow it out with compressed air,..pay attention to the bowl nut, there are tiny holes that get clogged ,
