Need help, have a briggs 6.50 with automatic choke carb. Would only start with starting fluid and still only run a few seconds. Cleaned carb and still had same results. Put on brand new carb and still have same results, will only start with starting fluid and then runs only for a few seconds until fluid is gone. Has anyone had this problem or have any suggestions.
Thanks,

Sounds like it is not getting fuel to the carb. Post all of the engine's model numbers so we know what you have.

Thanks for the reply. It is a gravity feed mower and plenty of fuel to bowl. Brand new carb, so I keepp searching and found a broken air tube. This would not allow it to suck gas through carb. Thanks again.

If it is a vertical shaft engine on a lawnmower it is probably a crack intake manifold.

Post your engines model type and code so we can assist you.
