Hi All, Here is a tough one

Went to fire the mower and it started then after a 5-6 seconds started flooding out. Motor is a 5.5 model 10t802. I tried new gas, new plug, rebuilt carb, new gaskets and diaphram, blew out all carb passages, checked tank for junk, pulled exhuast and checked for restriction, checked ignition with light while running and is good, If I blow some air down the carb it will clean up and run good for a bit then starts flooding again. I also checked the compression and its at 135. I pulled the head and the valves are good and the cylinder is clean with no scratches. Im at a loss for what to try next? Its one of those pulsa jet carbs. All parts are from a briggs dealer, not knock off parts. I also checked the new spark plug gap. The motor has never been apart or monkey around with before. Thanks for any input.

Just starting at the simply stuff...if carb is good then I would look at air intake, filter etc

There was a few engines in your model number class that came out with loose jets in the carb. The jet would fall out causing the engine to run like the choke was on. Pull the carb back off the tank, and remove the screen and see if the nickle colored jet has came out. If it is missing or came out you will need to replace the carb, because if you just insert the jet it will come back out again.

I pulled the screen and there is no jet there just a hole. Thanks for the advice :) I will try to find another carb
