So I removed a coil with one ground that attached onto the top of the coil. This new coil (see my pic) has 2 grounds which said it was for my engine. So where does the 2nd ground wire go to? Thanks for any help.
Unless your engine has a shut off switch nearby, I would attach both wires to the same point.

Your engine had been converted to a Magnetron coil. The coil you current got is one for the points and condenser system that the engine originally came with.
Engine was replaced. My father said it was a 8hp but not sure. Original on riding lawnmower was a 7hp. This one looks a lot like the one I took off it which worked for 9yrs, so I hope it works. I guess I'll just connect both wires to the same ground or would it be better to ground both wires separately? Thanks for your help.

If you ground wires you will find the coil will not fire as would not grounding both as it is intended to be used with points and condenser.
You will need the 398811 electronic conversion coil (Magnetron) as the points are most likely been disable.
398811/395492/398265 are used on 7hp to 16hp single cylinder engines, such as 170000,
190000, 280000, and 310000.
