Hello, looking for advice. My Simplicity Regent with the 24HP Briggs twin will crank but not start. The tank is full of fuel and if I disconnect the fuel line after the fuel pump when I crank it fuel is squirting out. When I shoot starting fluid into the air cleaner it will pop and run for a second then die. If I remove the fuel line and shoot starting fluid directly into the metal fitting that the fuel line goes to it will not try to run. When I removed the carb there appeared to be no fuel either in the bowl or in the area under top plate on the carb where fuel should be entering. I also hear the solenoid firing for the fuel shutoff when I turn the key on. Looking for recommendations

Thanks

If the fuel pump is delivering a nice steady stream of fuel, yet there is no fuel in the carburetor, and it will start briefly when you add fuel into throat of carburetor, then most likely the anti-afterfire solenoid is not working, or possibly dirty carburetor.

It would help to look up the carb used if you bother to post the model and spec numbers of the engine. Don't if single l or twin barrel. Also don't know if Walbro, Nikki, Ruixing, or Mikuni carb.

But sounds like a fuel blockage at the float needle seat.

Thank-you, it's a Nikki twin Barrel. I found a couple good videos on Youtube so I will tear it down and clean
