I'm just curious about what other owners of this SINGLE CYLINDER model briggs think about this engine in particular , mine is in a 2004 Murray 42in.
Thanks in advance for any input ...... Boobala :anyone: Ahhh yes , this is my "back-up" mower

With good service, the engine will last a long time. Blown head gasket is one common occurrence. Keep the cooling fins/shroud clean. Check the oil level each use, IF high, carb float needle is leaking gas allowing it to contaminate oil. I add and use a fuel line shutoff valve and use it as a precaution. It is always best to post the engine model number when asking advice, I assume this is a 31 series engine.
