I have an older model Murray 11hp/36in cut riding mower.when you depress the brake it will not stop.found the brake rod,adjusted it up but still wont stop.Any suggestions?
there is a nut outside the arm that actuates the brakes attached to the tranny. tighten the 1/2 inch nut to tighten the brakes. If that doesn't work then you may have replace the brake pads. It is not uncommon for the two pins that push the pad to rust and not move so those may have to be removed and cleaned of rust and lubed to work properly.
