Guys,
I bought an old series 23 rear engine Snapper. Probably 15 to 20 years old. Model 2812523BVE. Does this thing have an oil filter??

It’s a 12.5 hp 28 inch cut.

Looks like it should have one on the side of the engine. That is if someone has not replaced the original engine.

All depends on which engine you bave. They put a half dozen different engines on those from 8 to 15 hp. What are the numbers off the engine?

It’s a 12.5 Briggs and Stratton. The serial number states it’s engine type V (whatever that means)

If it is a 12.5 flathead then no oil filter or pump.

Very few of the rear engine Snappers had an oil filter. If it did it would be easily visible on the side of the engine.

I didn't know it was possiable to not have a oil pump. if this is true no oil pump will ease my planned cam swap.
I'm thinking the govorer acts as a pump?TB
