I posted last week how I was trying to decide on which ztr to buy. Decided on Gravely, based on the Kawasaki, and deck supports / rollers.
Went in looking at the ZT50, ended up spending the extra $900 and getting the XL48. Stronger frame, serviceable trans, fabricated deck, hour meter and 48 mos at 0%. With proper maintenance, I should easily see 10 years.
Mowed the lawn yesterday right after it was delivered. Beautiful cut, comfortable machine to drive, easy to learn. What took 3 hours with my old Cub LT two days ago took 1 hour yesterday!
Considering swapping to an aftermarket seat for extra padding, otherwise looking forward to a season of mowing!
Thanks for everyone's input and advice!

Congrats! Do you mow any hills/slopes with it? I am curious about traction on the Gravely's.

I have a culvert running the length of the property. Didnt want to take a chance the first time out. I'll follow up next week though when I mow again.

SCMCG,
Congrats, I don't think you will be disappointed with a Gravely!! I don't have slopes, etc. but PLEASE read the manual or read some of the advice on these forums about mowing grades and slopes(user Ric posted the basic does/don'ts in a post I read recently). There is definitely a right and wrong way to do it and it CAN be dangerous.

Vetteless,
That is one of the units I was seriously looking at. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it. I went to the local dealer and they had it at$4399 and wouldn't budge, even though their website said $4199.
Thanks,
Bruce

My dealer was $4099, no negotiating.

Brucebotti,

User vetteless is correct. $4,099 is the MSRP that my dealer shows for the Gravely ZT XL 48. If your dealer quoted $4,399 then most likely he is quoting a different mower(the next step up from the XL is the ZT HD 48 and it's MSRP is $4,999). Either that or he's gouging his customers for some kind of "prep fee"(never seen a dealer charge MORE than the mfg. MSRP). My dealer checked mine from top to bottom and I was WAY below MSRP on what I bought it for.

DJ,
It was definitely the ZT XL 48. There was a tag on it that said "Regularly $4699...Now only $4399". Maybe it was mismarked. I'll have to check back with them.
Thanks,
Bruce
