Bolens mower deck will not engage

I was mowing last week and when I was just about done, the mower deck quit moving up and down. I can move the handle to engage the blade, but nothing happens. No engine noise change, no physical movement, nothing. Can anyone tell me what the best course of action is? Is this something I can repair myself or should I take it somewhere. I have some mechanical abilities and feel confident in them.

Could you let us know what model it is. Seems like something had been disengaged (broken) could be a solid link bar or chain/cable for lifting the deck.

With the engine off and key removed have a good look around They are usually straight forward to diagnose. Go on, get down and dirty :smile: bet you find the fault.

The mower is a 13am762f065 Bolens 15.5 hp. Should I be looking from the bottom up or the top down? What would be the first thing to look at?

I think this maybe your machine, study the picture well, it shows the lifting mechanism.
