To Whom ever
I have a Bolens Eliminator 1700 Kohler 17HP as of right now NO Spark. the machine is in good/great shape considering it does not run and a sound motor would be the deciding factor on whether its repaired or parted out.
I have not tested the condenser for a dead short as of yet. I am in the understanding that the coil on a 17HP Kohler is a one of a kind only specific to that motor and replacement value for the coil is $200.00.. That will make anyone sit down and rethink. has anyone found a work around for this problem?
1. I thought about finding 2 coils ( NAPA or Auto Zone ) and setting them up in parallel and dedicating a coil to each plug but this rises another problem with the condenser MF being to low and arcing the points over.
any help, ideas in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
