I own a 40 acre horse farm....currently mowing about 4 acres of "lawn" all of it is reclaimed pasture, rough in some places. Bumpy, tree roots, stump holes etc. Ive looked at and narrowed down 2 mowers based on dealer locations near me. The Bobcat xrz and Scag Freedom Z. Both are priced close to each other. The Bobcat has slightly better components but for some reason I like the Scag as well. Id love to be able to step up to the Scag Patriot or Tiger Cat but finances wont allow. (Horses are a little expensive to keep up)
I am NOT a professional, just a hobby farmer that wants to keep his grass cut as quickly and efficiently as possible with out taking out a mortgage to do it.

I would suggest that you look into Exmark, or toro as well. They used to offer an equine discount for horse owners. I am not 100% sure they still do, but it would be worth checking out. If they still offer the promotion, you may be able to step up to a higher quality mower.
