I take it its an electric clutch to activate the blades?
Well could be a number of things.... bad switch, bad relay, weak battery or ( worse) bad clutch - id start with a switch - those do go bad from use. A weak battery will cause a cut out as well ( need full battery voltage to keep clutch engaged). Replacement relays can be bot at autoparts stores.
Id hate to see how much a new electric clutch goes for - i searched one for my 86GTII - they want $350 for a new one ( mine works - also have a spare , but never know....).
Yes you would be looking at about $300 for new clutch, but start with the wiring, check all your wires for loose connections, especially at the clutch pigtail. Once the blades engage it causes a little more vibration which could interfere with blades running. Also check relays and possible switch.
