Hello i have got a briggs and stratton mower and it has not been run in over a year, I cleaned all the carb etc and the engine wouldnt turn over it kept locking at tdc. I took the head off and ive found this tiny brass object on top of the piston does anyone know what it is ?

looks sort of like one of those air bleed jets that normally sit on the side of the carb intake

the model number of the egine would help narrow down the possible location it came from

Thanks for the reply im not sure of the number but this is the engine.

If you look down into the throat of the carb were the fuel gets sprayed in from the primer, so carbs have a brass or nickel like jet right there. See if it is missing.
