Any good brand name 30W oil will work just fine. No need for additive, just change it at the beginning of each season or after 50 hours, which ever comes first. Filter also.

The engine manual will call for a certain letter designation that will be found on oil bottles. Use it.

My preference is a true synthetic such as Amsoil 10w-30 for small engines. May not be necessary, but I feel better and have confidence in a synthetic especially in an air cooled engine.

The API Classifications that most call for today to use are SH,SL, and SM and SN they are the most current. All others are obsolete. As SeniorCitizen said check your manual. If you go with the multi viscosity check your oil more often be cause it can increase oil consumption.

That's what I'm running in my Husky- I'm putting probably 50 hours a month on it, and time will tell if it pays off. I have a few jugs of Amsoil around, so I'm running it in the Husky to use it. I figure it can't hurt. No issues so far...
