Best high lift blade for my D130

Hello! I am new here, just bought a D130 mower. Because that is the only mower i stock anywhere near me. I know it's not a heavy duty mower but it is what I have.
it came with the 3N1 blade. That blade isn't throwing clippings like I need it to. It is mulching instead of throwing. I am not mulching or bagging. I am mowing weeds with this mower, I just need the best blades that will help keep it from clogging. I have been on another forum and have talked to several dealers. There is no one near me so I am buying online.
I am looking for the best high lift mower blade for this mower.
Should I buy the JD blades?
The Predator II blades with the teeth like gator blades?
Should I buy the gator blades?
From where I have looked, the JD brand is around $60 shipped. I can buy the predator II's for about $40 from a cranky guy on ebay. Not sure I want to deal with him, though he is a JD dealer.
I am just looking for feedback really. Best high lift blade for the money? I have never used the gator style blades and I am not sure I want to.
Any thoughts? Feedback?
I have been told this is a good forum. Don't beat me up over my mower, my choices were limited to this or a smaller troybuilt with the Koehler "Courage" engine. I know of two of those motors that blew up long before they should have, so no way was ai going to buy that mower.
I have to buy online cause I live wayyyy out in the country with no town nearby.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.

After seeing what my JD high lift blades do, I am not switching to any other brand.

We use the john Deere high lift mulching blades when we're bagging the clippings. They work alot better then the original blades that come on those mowers.give them a try.
But if your not bagging the clippings then normal blades should work fine, and not clog.

THank you for the reply, and the link. Shipping is killing me everywhere for the oem blades. They have them in stock 6o miles away. That's more gas money than the blades cost without shipping. I can't win..lol. $62 shipped to me. But I guess I might try the oem. Thanks for the feedback :eek:)

I am sorry I cannot answer that, I order more than a 100 when I order for the free shipping and they get the blades out in a hurry now and don't mess around.
Add the blades you want to your cart and proceed with the check out and I bet it will come up with shipping options and cost page.

Stens has high lift bagging blades for nearly 20 bucks less shipped.

They cut fine, but the 3N1 blade is designed to cut and mulch and shine your shoes. I just need a blade that cuts and shoots the clippings, (non mulched), out the chute. From what I read just about everywhere, high lift blades will discharge clippings much better than the 3N1's, I was just wondering if there was a brand that is preferred by the owners here.
My old craftsmen, with a straight cut blade discharged great as long as the chute wasn't in the way. So I usually used a bungy cord to hold it up some so as not to impede discharge. I use the same high tech bungee cord on this great new mower.
So, do you prefer oem high lift bagger blades over aftermarket high lift blades?

I have found them on several sites. Off Ebay, (I hate to wait for processing an order on Ebay) on greenmower.com they are $43 a set, but the shipping was $21 If I bought 3 sets I would get free shipping, but I am no ready to do at this time. I can buy them for $52 at the dealer that is 60 miles away. I might see if they can ship them to me, butm it wouldn't be cheap even for 60 miles. Cheaper than buying gas though. I am going to use these silly 3N1 blades until they wear out. They may outlast the tractor..lol
On the greanpartsstore.com they are $46.54 plus $14.80 for UPS ground
I want to try a set before I buy three sets. I am not commercial. If I was commercial I wouldn't have bought this particular mower. It's a long story, but I had no choices when I bought it.
Thanks for the help. On another forum one person said they really liked the gator blades. And they are a bit cheaper. But I am not sold on the design. THye may work fine I don't know. I sure miss my22 year old craftsmen..lol.. It lasted forever, and the old B&S engine still runs fine. I may try to find a rear end for it. I had just put two new mandrells on it, and a new idler pulley. It was going fine until the rear end started clicking and clacking and wouldn't move forward or in reverse. I am not sure exactly what it looks like inside the rear end. But I bet there is one laying in a bone yard somewhere. But I live a long way away from a mower boneyard..lol

It seems you live quite a ways from civilization so it shouldn't matter what your lawn or field looks like, maybe get some goats. If you don't like that idea then maybe you have a friend in a larger city that could buy and ship to you for less than the online dealers charge. If you don't have any friends then I would do it for you. Let me know. Just offering.

Thanks, I did. Their prices are decent but unless I guy more than one set the shipping will kill me.
I am getting the feeling that most here believe the OEM are the best blade? The Predators and JD blades are all made in the same factory. The one JD dealer on Ebay, sells the Predator II's and he says they are better and made at the same factory the JD brand is. I am not sure I need those teeth on a blade. I need a blade that will push. The high lift OEM blades look pretty good. Nothing fancy..

And that guy is full of shat saying the predators are better than JD blades, JD has their blades hardened and with their composition they are not the same as the predator. The JD blades are high-carbon, nickel alloy steel, and made to JD specs.
Now I am not saying the predator blades are not any good they are a good quality made blade also with very nice specs on them as well, but to make a statement they are better than OEM JD is not right and he should have never said that.

E-bay has more people full of shat about JD and JD products than this site does. I had a guy on e-bay tell me his rotarty spindles were made in the same factory as the JD spindles, I mean this guy told me twice the same thing, well after I received them I opened one, took about 5 seconds to see they were junk and found china stamped everywhere, so he was not happy with me that he had to refund my money and all shipping expenses, but hey you lie you will pay.
JD spindles are made in the USA, well at least the ones on my mower are so tell me how something is made in the same factory when they are not even made in the same country. LOL

Hey look here, $51.00 shipped to your door, now you are not going to beat that price.

I ate my Goats... hard times....
I thin I am going to Clovis today to get blades, because lightning took out my computer, modem and router and I am going to send it to my only non Texan friend so he can Rehab it. I have no packing so I will have to take it to the UPS store.
It rained again last night and this morning. So once again I am under the gun with the weed control. I need better blades and a bungee cord ASAP.
You could send me your goats, you could take them down the street and have them made into Jerky if you wanted, The meat would last longer.
We used to have 25 goats. They were a PITA. I used them to practice roping. That's right, as kid I was a goat roper. Also a Rodeo cowboy roping calves, and my spurs go Jingle Jangle Jingle. Thanks for your input.

LOL, he was also an a**hole. I won,t be buying from him. I saw those on ebay you pointed to, and I was going to buy them. But, we had a big storm last night and it took out my Computer, modem and router, and it rained buckets. The weeds are perking up this morning.
I have to drive 60 miles to send my fired computer to a friend in Colorado, who will rebuild it for me. So I am going to pick up the JD blades from the dealer over there. That way I will have them today. When it gets dry enough to mow, I will have these on the mower. I think they will throw the weeds out better than the 3N1 because they are definitely mulching. I don't need to mulch.
Thanks for the input. I would buy them from your link, he has 100% feedback. But they have them in stock 60 miles away and I need to go over to CLovis anyway. After I try them, and if my mower lasts, I will buy them somewhere that has a good price if you buy more sets. And maybe the dealer here will give me a better price.
Right now I don't trust this D130, it isn't made for what I need it for. I want it to last at least 3 years..lol it might if I go slow and cut high. I would hate to stock up on blades only to find my mower isn't going to last..lol

Thanks, at least I had my old computer for backup. It's not fast but I am online.
I have something over 4 acres to mow. Most of that is at my Mom's place. What I mow here mostly is along the irrigation canal (one side) that leads to my house. It's 700 feet. And I also have to mow the longer (washed out now) dirt road that we use when the ditch road is too wet. Its a ways and pretty rough. I have to mow along both sides of it. It's not really a road. I just had a blade cut it, and isn't wide and the turnouts have blown full of sand. So it's a small creek right now..lol. The weed that I haven't mowed are about 6 feet tall right now. Big fat and juicy too. Not sure what kind of weed they are, my dad always called them careless weeds. They grow super fast and are full of water. We also have another weed he called ironweed. it is tuffer, much tuffer. So since I had to go over everything twice last time, I mowed close to seven or eight acres last week taking in the multiplication. I hope I won't have to mow twice the next time. I shouldn't have too if I get a couple of days soon with no rain..
These blades 3N1's cut okay but they also mulched and that made it harder to spit out. i don't like these mulching blades at all. I wish I had that mower in your sig pic :eek:)

Yea my machine is a solid beast, but I mow over 12 acres per week so I need a machine for the grass. LOL

Nice. Around here everyone uses a tractor and a brush hog, cept me. I use small mowers..lol

Well I drove 60 miles to the dealer and got a set of high lift blades. Huge difference in spitting out the clippings!! No more mulching. And these are heavy duty blades for sure. I will be buying them from now on. I have bought off brand for my other mowers and they have never been as heavy as oem's. I fear that the blades are heavier than the mower parts.
I got my mowing at my Mom's place done in 4.5 hours which included pulling some goatheads and putting them in a bucket. My back is killing me. The older I get the less I can sit on one of these without acute pain in my back. But that's part of life I guess. I mowed my place last night in about an hour. The terrain is very rough due to years of drought and high winds. And then the flooding and the erosion it caused. I live on a sandhill. The smaller 42" deck works best for this place. If the mower last a few years I will be happy. It might outlast me..I should be able to sharpen them a few times. They are very thick and heavy. I just wanted to report n. JD high lifts are the way to go IMHO. :eek:)
