Need ur guys opinion. 24hp b&s. Was told they have a habit of dropping guides and bending rods. Question how bent does a rod have to be before it causes a problem? Mine appears to be bent ever so slighlty mayb .001 out

The last bent push rod I replaced came out in two pieces. .001 run out should not be a problem but if in doubt, replace it. Roll it on a known smooth surface and if it wobbles replace it. In another thread the recommendation of using two steel push rods instead of one steel and one aluminum came up and I'm going to try it on the next one that comes in. YMMV.

The dimple depth in the lifter and in the rocker arm is .080," measured when my Intek was apart.
But the pushrod will come out way earlier if hung up by deposit or overheat. See pic, use cloud tag. in this forum. FYI
