Working on a gear case/tranny for a tiller that I got in a yard sale... According to last owner, 2 people were in the gear box before me, and neither replaced any of the grease they took out. Now I see why.. $20+ for 8 oz.. and it needs 22 oz.
I did some googling, and didn't get any clear answers except that I would have to remove all the old stuff to put anything else in.. Also thought about putting a zerk fitting in so it's easier to add grease later..
But what should I use? JD Corn head grease seemed ok, but it says 'low speed' and not sure if that drive belt driven main pulley is classified as low speed?
