I’m in the market for a new ride on mower. The wish list is a 4 wheel drive as the mowing terrain is steep. At the moment I have a JD X500 which has served me well. The choice is between a belt drive vs drive shaft for both the cutter deck and mower drive. Has anyone experienced any difficulties with the drive shaft drive? My concern is if the cutter gets jammed it will garage the upstream gearbox.
