Hi I am a newbie here who is having trouble with his 1 owner 1996 exmark metro. My dad purchased new back in 1997 as a left over. It has been a great machine all of its life, just needing the usaual maintence parts etc. But it never needed anything major up until the end of last season the one belt starting acting up. It is the engine to cutter deck belt. I tried adjusting the "turn buckle" and that made it worst and starting really wearing the belt fast, to the point it snapped and I had to replace it. This spring I am 3 cuts in and the belt still isnt correct and keeping popping off. It seems that the turn buckle nut is not holding the turnbuckle in place and every time i tighten it up it just loosens itself back up. Has anyone ever heard of these "turnbuckles" failing?
