I've got the usual load tester, hook the leads up and flip the switch, it heats up and watch the gauge
I'm just curious if anyone knows exactly how this new testers work... i'm curious how or what they use to put a load on the battery.
This is a battery conductance tester and does not load the battery like the old-style toaster grid designs. They are more accurate.
Midtronics brand is the best on the market for this style tester.
The ATD-5494 is a good one also, at a fraction of the cost.

The one I got from harbor freight seems to be pretty accurate. I took it to a place that sells batteries and it was pretty close to their readings. As far as being bad or not.
