Went to start the 126-61 Grasshopper and dead as a door nail. I have kept a trickle charger on it the whole time (less than 40 hours) and have it
stored in a dry place. Anyway, took the left fender off to get to the battery for checking and found dirt, sand and debris all over the battery due to there being no shielding from the left rear tire. This allows any debris from the tire to be thrown up all over the battery.
What engineer would think of such a lack of shielding for a battery being it is directly in front of the rear tire?
Battery is kaput according to tester and it wont "recondition", now getting a new battery to replace it.
I will build some type of shielding when I install the new one.
