So I'm taking an electric start motor (B&S 287707) from a yard tractor and putting it in an old Snapper RER that was pull start. The wiring... is a foreign concept to me. I take it I need to:
Now, I realize that does nothing to get power from the stator back to charge the battery, but that's phase 2. All I need right now is to get the thing to crank and run. I'm not worried about using a key, theft prevention, charging, etc. Just simply getting it running. Am I missing anything in my list?
- Ground motor to chassis
- Wire starter to hot battery post with a momentary switch in line somewhere
- Ground battery to chassis
- Wire in a kill switch somewhere
