I've recently had to fiddle and figure out where the brake rod goes. It doesn't appear to have anything retaining it on the end that just plugs in. Not really looking so much for answer on that. I suspect design is just push in and it stays (until hole wears or something pops it out).

What I'd like to know is there any better source of images/parts breakdowns. The typical parts diagrams are poor and the manual is terrible as far as detailed images. I did tech manuals as part of my job supporting aircraft engines and we'd never turn out this garbage. Second views or actual photos from more than one angle of the decks would be great to go with say the belt procedure but of course these are probably written in China and made as cheap as possible. I guess the repair shops that charge $$$ use tribal knowledge.

MTD service manuals haven't been updated since 2010 which is one step ahead of Husqvarna which doesn't even have service manuals.

If we had the model and serial number from under the seat we could search to see what we could find.
