Why does my cub cadet backfire when i turn it off?

:smile: Gas residue in the muffler. Let it idle and cool down for a few minutes before shutting it off.

If it has a fuel stop solenoid on the bottom of the carb, it is not working. If no solenoid, try idling down the engine for 15 seconds before shutting off.
