I have a 14.5HP B&S engine that has a NIKKI Carb on it part number 498888N, does anyone know where I can get a rebuilt replacement? I just want to swap it out with a new one. Could I just change it out for a different carb also, like the Walbro? I checked Partstree.com and it doesn't list the carb I have the NIKKI.
Any help would be appreciated.

The reason I need to change it is, I tried to get the "new to me" used mower to start, and wouldnt fire up, found gas leaking out exhaust pipe, and had gas pooling in top of carb under air filter.

Post your model, type, and code off the engine and I will see what I can find for you. I don't know of any place that sells rebuilt carbs though, you may have to replace with completely new carb.

The carb repair kit part number for your Nikki carb is 695427. They don't give a part number for the complete Nikki carb, but list the parts numbers for all the replaceable pieces. The part number for the Walbro complete carb is 791886 which supercedes to a 799727 which list for $141 and some change.

I appreciate it very much. So do you think I could replace the NIKKI carb with that Walbro carb? Would the connections and fuel flow rate be enough to run my engine? I figure it was just an option they had for use on this engine, between the two carbs.

I believe they would interchange. The Walbro carb is for gravity feed systems only. I don't know if your engine has a fuel pump or not. The walbro switch may require a static readjustment for the governor, but that should be it.

I really appreciate the help. Hopefully I can get to mowing soon.
