Autochoke Thermowax replacement

I have a HRR216VKA Honda Lawnmower. I am trying to locate a replacement thermowax for my lawnmower. The dealer says that I have to buy the entire assembly for $55.00. I have taken the thermowax out and it looks like a two-part cylindrical piece (brass and steel). The pin on the brass piece is stuck in the "in" position. I can find the replacement part separately available on Amazon or ebay, or anywhere. Can you help me find the part please? Thank you. Daniel...

What is the serial of the mower? Most of the IPL show it as a set though which includes the carburetor.

on the eariest verson of the mower the thermowax was PN 16620-Z9L-003. No guarantee it is the same one.

The serial # is MZCG-7903691 and Model # is HRR2165VKA The main issue is it takes 10 or more pulls to start. Once it starts it runs smoothly.

It is anything like the last one here it will be the carburetor. I had one that started fine when cold but it warmed up a little was a major pain to start. Replaced the wax unit with no results replaced carburetor solved the problem.

But is this the thermowax unit yours has? About half the price of the carburetor kit.

Looks like you have the right part. But here is another option that worked better for me than the thermal wax on an HRX217. Might not work for your model though.

Normally the pin is in the 'in' position when cold. To check it - place in hot water or use pliers and lighter to see if it extends out.
