Have you put the float on upside down?
I get quite a few in each year where the customer has worked on it and dont put the float the right way.

a plugged bowl vent will flood like crazy....is it not starting? or is it making a mess and pouring smoke while running?

Hi,
Many thanks for your leplies.float is correct way up.If I squease the fuel line & restrict the fuel supply it runs ok as if there is to much pressure from the pump.Re the bowl vent the symtems are the same.Where is the vent on the carby?

Hi Red Dragon.
You hit the nail right on the head. The tinies piece of grass in the vent hose.Runs like a clock now. At least I now have the cleanest carby on a mower in the whole of Australia.Thank you very much for your time & help.

Honda wont officially say this but when the engine switches off it sucks so any debris close to it gets sucked up in it.
Fit a fuel filter on the end of the pipe.
