Can anyone advise on how to tighten an Atco admral blade? The blade on theses machines dont lock onto the blade boss, meaning that you have to hold the plastic air fan to tighten the blade up. Because of this i cant sufficiently tighten the blade which means that the machine rattles and vibrates like mad when running. Has anyone had experience with these machines?

If you can, wedge the blade against the deck with a piece of scrap lumber or a block. then turn the the bolt until the blade is securely wedged and tighten her down...
Don't even attempt running the mower with the blade loose/ not sufficiently tightened, it's a sharp hunk of steel swinging around at 2 or 3 thousand rpm, not worth losing a body part.

Thats what i would normally do with a honda, etesia, hayter husky etc as they have locator holes on the bade and dowels on the crank boss. The Atco has nothing to lock the blade onto the boss. However ive just had an idea to remove the pull start assembly and sonehow lock the flywheel to stop the crank turning. Will try that in the morning. Should work!
