My lawnmower blows the fuse as soon as I turn on the ignition switch. I unplugged the ignition and checked it out with my multimeter. The switch checked out to be good. What steps should I take next?

This type of electrical troubleshooting can either be very frustrating or rewarding. You have a short in the wiring, but not being there it is hard to help you. What I would do is trace every wire coming off the ignition switch, looking for one where the insulation is worn off, allowing the bare wire to short to ground. You can't just look, but must feel each one with you fingers. Pay attention to any wires that could come in contact with moving parts. Go slow and don't assume anything is good. Good luck, go slow, it may take ten minutes or ten days.

Second thought, if you have a VOM, you could test each connection to ground to help find the short, if you know how to do this.
