Hi everyone,
I have a quick question for those in the know. I was reading an article that was discussing the impending closing of the GA Snapper plant and production would be moved to NY and WI. As the parent company, B&S can do what they want, but will the commercial machines be affected? The article went on to say that they are slimming down their "lower end" products.
With the above in mind, will the commercial units still be produced?

Will the commercial units still be produced, I would say so. Will the quality be what snapper once was, well they sell snapper at Walmart now so I guess you can form your own opinion. B&S along with MTD, Husqvarna, John Deere and others spec their equipment to retailers for sales to the public. As one article said it's what they refer to as price point mowers.

I was under the impression that the "Walmart" Snappers were TOTALLY different from the high end commercial machines. The machines that are price point, would not be commercial. Is/was the quality of the commercial machines still top notch, or have they slipped as well? I was thinking of buying a commercial machine, but not this season, rather next year. I hope in one year they are still being produced. At this point B&S (Snapper) can't sell that many commercial machines, with the numer of Honda's, Exmark's, etc on landscapers trailers.

If I were going to buy commercial I'd go with Toro/ Exmark, they put more commercial mowers on Lawncare / landscapers trailers than anyone else. The Snappers that walmart sells as well as the commercial brands that are sold at dealers are all manufactured by B&S. If your thinking about a commercial push mower you may want to look at the warranties before you buy.

They may in your area, but not all areas. Snapper commercial mowers are not sold at Walmart or lowes or Home Depot or any other big box store. Sure, their residential mowers are, but not their commercial mowers.
