Chasing a hydraulic leak on STC48A (see other thread) and did some more investigation and diagnosis after reoccurring hyd. leak after replacing the seals at the cap and charge pump.

It appears that the bypass/dump valve is the culprit. I removed both left and right ones and inspected and the one that was leaking was worn and the shiny finish was discolored. Apparently you can’t buy just the o-ring and seal and must replace the entire valve.

Has anyone seen a valve leak and what could have caused the worn area? Is further pump overhaul and inspection warranted?

Looks like just moisture damage as the area is not sealed.

And yes according to the IPL of the BDP10 and 21 show that you must buy the bypass kit.
