Hello,

I am working on an M series mower and hoped maybe there is another owner who might help out with a couple photos. Someone worked on it previously, and I have questions about both the carburetor linkage and the oil injection.

Regarding the oil injection, they weren't using it and had disconnected it. I have reconnected it; but my concern is that the lines may be backwards. The service manual says it there is an "OUT" but the pump itself is not marked in my case unfortunately. 50/50 chance here; but a photo or description of how it SHOULD be would be nice (it is currently running on pre-mix).

The carburetor linkage seems odd to me; it may well be that the choke and governor are swapped. I would think that moving the throttle lever all the way forward should close the choke and backing it off slightly would open it (as with most other mowers). That isn't happening here though. It is OPEN when moved fully forward, then closing once backed off. Again, a photo of how things should be would be super helpful.

I have scoured the various forums in hopes of finding something but have come up empty handed. It seems there just aren't many photos or videos of this model out there.

Maybe you can attach a couple of machine pictures and attach them? I'm not sure what you are calling an "M" series mower.

Hello, I was referring to the Lawnboy M series mowers. Good news is that I think I have it figured out.

The oil injection lines are supposed to be 'crossed' I believe, which is to say that the hose closest to the oil tank runs to the injection port, and the one furthest from the tank is the inlet.

Regarding the linkage, the shorter rod is the choke and is furthest outside. The throttle linkage is longer and inboard. They run parallel to each other.

To my embarrassment; I also discovered it it possible to install the carb backwards and it will start/run - Albeit with the symptoms I described in my first post :)

Once I realized this and flipped it around it wanted to run at close to 6K RPM so I adjusted the governor per the service manual and all is well now. Did a quick test and it seems good; once I get a few replacement gaskets I'll give it a proper trial work out. Thanks for the reply.
