Trying to change belts on an old Mongomery Wards 8 HP (B&S) snowblower. model# TMO35268-B MFG date # J024B. Not sure of age. Auger belt was shredded. Odd looking auger drive pulley is pictured. Is this broken or missing a part? The attachment bolt only secures a thick, flat washer. Second pic. shoes it removed. Doesn't seem to be a good surface for a conventional V belt to ride in. Thanks in advance.

Your pics don’t show if it is a one pulley or two stacked. I can’t find any info or diagrams using the model you provided. I’m guessing you many have a model built between 1988-1992 by the Gilson Corp. if I’m correct you may have to remove the pulleys as one by wedging a screwdriver between the block and the pulleys. Before trying, tip the engine on end and spray plenty of your best penetrating oil in the area where you took the bolt out and let it sit for a couple of day. Hopefully the oil will work it’s way down.
