Repairs anyone ever have this problem

hi i have a RX75 ,its in great shape been stored for a long time in a shed .seems to be in good working order but the prob is as soon as i connect a battery the starter engages.i thought ignition switch ,tried another same thing .so thought and called a local repair shop we thought it could be solenoid .replaced it with a new 1 and still the same.thought must be harness ,removed and inspected it no trouble signs or reason to fail .disconnect switch an relay ,the starter still engages .please don't tell me I'm the the only 1 with this prob lol

I suspect that you are getting 12v to the small terminal on ths solenoid for some reason. Disconnect the wire or wires going to the small terminals on the solenoid and see if it still turns the starter. If it does then you will need to figure out where the wiring is shorting out. or connected incorrectly.

thanks yes i removed and inspect wire harness carefully remove plastic no reasonable failure .hooked back up still same, remove small terminal an it did stop engage of starter.
is it the new solenoid?

am i missing something with the harness ,its a pretty simple harness .its getting power some how .i did install the solenoid the same way the old 1 came off but it is acting the same .frustrating deal.

Either you have a short in the wiring causing power to jump to the small wire on the solenoid, or there is a wire hooked up some place that is allowing 12v to get to the solenoid. You may need to trace the small wire from the solenoid and find out where it goes, and were it is getting power with the key turned off. That wire should only have power when the key is in the start position.

hi thanks for your help i removed harness again an the harness is in good shape but one puzzling part on it theres a red wire that was plugged into a purple wire that split an went to small solenoid .i don't think there suppose to be connected ,disconnected it doesn't engage starter turn key an nothing happened so i jumped the red live an a purple wire on ignition plug an the starter engaged .ok so i thought switch so went to the local parts store bought a new ignition and nothing.i thought must be a safety problem now i bypass seat safety nothing ,i bypass neutral safety switch ,nothing .i thought i had lucked out theres a guy 20 mins away has same model so went to reference the harness and it was different than the 1 I'm working on .this mower is crazy .im fairly big guy an i want to pick this mower up an slam it on the ground .lol need more help

HA HA HA victory !!!!was getting ready to take it to a shop an pay to get them to check out .so i checked over it and battery was dead .it was strong the other when trying it .put on charger and just pushed down on inline fuse ,it started working .holy sh$t.l had cleaned out carb one of the times i had this thing apart .fired right up it runs like a champ.i did a few laps in the driveway ,i was all teeth .its a very nice little mower.its been in a shed for probably 20+yrs .there was four mowers in there .a1973 57 john deere an what looks to be the same machine without the body but it looks older .their all complete .then theres an lawnflite classic that i got running first .there was no spark.change to a new magneto an clean carb it fired up .its an briggs n stratton 11 hp .its complete an what looks to be in good working order but it smoked an the carb filled up with oil .thats when i stared on the rx75 .still puzzles me that theres a red live wire goes to nothing and a purple plug not plugged in ?they do fit into one another but thats what gave the solenoid power with out key switch .i never tried the pto yet one victory at time lol .i should put a video on youtube .
