I have my grand aunts 536 Edger with a Tecumseh (craftsman) 143.531112 engine. It still has a little compression and I have used it several times over the last year, but I am , nor have I ever been a fan of the diaphragm carburetor.
Is there a float and bowl type carb that can be easily fitted to my machine?
Are the diaphragm carbs alright and I am just doing something wrong?
Should I stop using the E-10 gasoline?
So you think the diaphragm carbs are OK? I never really liked them as a kid with minibikes and mowers, snowblowers.
Possibly I just never did have exposure and education experience with them and it followed my into adulthood.
Do you know K100 fuel treatment? The honda shop for motorcycles swears by the stuff. Any preference on snake oil?

Just curious but exactly what problem do u have with the edger?
I also have one of these (same motor different year) and use plain gas.
Is it hard to start? mine, the cable keeps slipping to where the choke does not close so just need to move the cable so the choke *does* close and it starts up.
