OK I've learned the name of the solenoid on the bottom of my briggs carb. I need to hotwire this to a mower that had an engine without one. On the keyswitch (which is not lettered) , I can only find one post that has a constant 12v but remains hot even in the off position. Is there an area that I can find 12v that turns off with the key. Thanks

If you have 12v into the key switch, you will have 12v out on it somewhere, go back with a meter and check again, or come back here with more info like make + model/photo's of mower that the key switch is fitted to so maybe someone here can help you.
