Today I got a great deal on 3 2-stage snowblowers and one is an orange AMF. It has the white Tecumseh engine on it.
In general, is it worth fixing up the AMF with the intent to sell or should I part it out? I’m more familiar with Honda and Craftsman snowblowers; this AMF is new territory for me.
Tomorrow I will reply with the model number and a photo of the manufacturer plate.
Sounds like a plan. If I were to get the engine running, then listed it for sale as a project snow blower for someone to work on, what’s a fair price to ask?
It’s been sitting outside for while and will need new tires and maybe other parts.
Advertise it and sell as is for best offer because the more you put into it, the more you will have to ask for it. Getting it to run good enough (cheaply) to show a buyer increases the possibility of selling it.
I would let the potential buyer decide if they want to buy it and adopt it as a project. There are folks out there who pride themselves in fixing up stuff like this.
Sounds good, @Auto Doc's, that’s my thought currently; get it running (cheaply) then list it for sale. I’ll go through the other systems to make sure those are in good enough working condition to show a potential buyer. Hopefully it’ll become a project for them.
