I have a Gravely ZT X 42 (915172) and recently it has started to make a whining sound exactly like the sound a power steering pump makes when the fluid level is low.
Naturally, my first thought is that it needs the fluid topped off but it appears that the units on this particular model are not serviceable (even though the manual lists a part number for hydraulic oil) ?. Is it safe to assume that I am going to have to replace the entire unit? I have tried to find a service manual online with no luck.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

That has the ZT2200 transaxle. This should help for oil change & refill.

Perfect! Thank you! It also included a link to the service manual I had been unsuccessful in locating.
It looks to be a fairly uncomplicated process...provided I have accurately diagnosed the cause of the noise. ?
