Is it ok to use an air filter which was very wet with gas & stablizier but is now dry?

Gas residue tends to clog the pores in the element rendering it useless because of the air flow restriction. I have seen water do the same thing on certain air filters.

Since you didn't specify which type of air filter, paper or foam, I will add that if it is a foam filter you can usually wash them out with dish soap until clean, wring out excess water, let dry, add a little engine oil and squeeze out the excess oil by hand.

If it is a paper filter, just get a new one.

I agree. If it is foam i would clean it and if it is paper I would replace it.
